It starts with a Beautiful Cabochon

Handmade Jewelry

There are times we all have a difficult time getting inspiration.  I sit down at my beading table and see all the wonderful beads, findings and wire everywhere.  Just waiting to become the next beautiful creation.  My hands pick up this bead or that Cabochon and think, maybe this or maybe that, but nothing wants to come together.
Have you ever felt this way?  I’m pretty sure most of us have at one time or another.  What do we do? How can we get the creative juices flowing again?
When I find myself feeling this way, I often look to others artists for inspiration, read inspirational blogs and look through all of my beading magazines.  Believe me, there are hundreds of beading magazines in my house.
I also browse my favorite on-line bead shops, looking for inspiration. While browsing one of my favorite shops, Magpiegemstones, I found and purchased a beautiful Azurite oval cabochon.
The stunning colors of Lapis and Malachite became this lovely necklace below.  I bead embroidered 2mm lapis beads around the cab, with palace green Swarovski crystals, and dark sapphire size 13 cut beads.  Then finished with silver plated chain and simple hook and eye sterling silver clasp.
My daughter said it reminder her of a Fairy.  I thought perhaps a beautiful butterfly.  Which ever, the colors are truly dazzling.
Be sure to check back next week for my new tutorial on how to make a bead embroidery cuff bracelet.
As always,
Happy Beading

I spend hours practicing, learning and searching the internet for ideas, tutorials and jewelry making inspiration.
